Beth Styles | Founder, Composer, Director 

Beth Styles

Beth Styles is a versatile producer/composer/arranger/vocalist/performer who’s work has become well known for creating community projects that bring people together in the name of love and unity. Since founding the New World Chorus in 2011, Beth has collaborated with diverse houses of worship, clergy and leadership of many spiritual paths to produce compelling annual multifaith events including the Thanksgiving service “A Time to be Grateful”, and “Season of Miracles”, a joyful celebration of Spring. Beth is also the creator of “The Shabbat Experience” – A journey of peace, music and meditation and the “Living Voice Project”, which sources inspiring programs for people living with a form of dementia such as Alzheimer’s through the power of music.

As a composer, Beth has written an extensive catalogue of original music ranging from Contemporary Spiritual, Jewish Liturgical, Gospel, Jazz, R & B, Theater, Folk and Funk to Film Scoring and Children’s Music.  She has also worked with clients including Diana Ross and Shlomo Carlebach z”l, as well as a myriad of cantors and talented local artists.  She has performed on grand stages including Radio City Music Hall as well as venues across CT and NY. Beth’s multi-media production studio is located in Stamford, CT and is the source of a wide range of original work, including music and video for corporate commercials, TV, film, musical theater and projects for children with special needs.

Beth grew up in a modern Jewish orthodox family. She studied in Yeshiva and lived in Israel for several years. With passionate spiritual roots as well as a long time education in transformational studies, Beth is devoted to bringing the NWC vision to fruition “One World, One Voice, United in Love”.



Jason Terry | Choir Director 

Jason Linwood Terry is a gifted vocalist and choir director.  Beloved and in demand, Jason sings and directs for the New World Chorus, the Good New Gospel Choir of Westport, CT (Founder Chris Coogan), and renowned gospel recording artist, Pastor Hezekiah Walker.

Jason grew up in Danville, Virginia, where both his spiritual and musical journey began with singing in church choirs.  He later studied music at Shaw University and received a degree in Music. After traveling with the Shaw University concert choir throughout the country and abroad, Jason was appointed Minister of Music for the Thomas J. Boyd Chapel and served as director for the campus’s New Vision Gospel Choir in Raleigh, North Carolina.

As a professional studio artist, Jason has sung background vocals for many different gospel artists such as Shirley Caesar, Karen Clark-Sheard, Kurt Carr and many others.

Jason is devoted to sharing his heart and musical gifts as a blessing to all God’s children.



 Dr. Chela Belcher | Spiritual Director, Asst. Choir Director

Dr. M. Chela Belcher serves as the interfaith spiritual director as well as assistant choir director for the NWC.  Among her many gifts, Chela is a talented vocalist, percussionist, praise leader and teacher. With her roots in Gospel, Chela brings a profound joy, love, and celebration through spiritual music.

Chela’s vast experience includes being a lead vocalist in choirs throughout Connecticut.  In addition she spent several years as the radio announcer and host of the “Gospel Connection” music radio program for WHUS, 91.7, of the University of Connecticut.  Chela has been a guest minister and soloist at English and Spanish-speaking churches in Hartford and New Haven counties.  She also served as radio minister for a Spanish speaking radio station in Hartford.

Chela describes herself as a liberal Christian who believes that every person is loved and cherished by God.
