Do you love to sing? Do you want to make a difference through music? You can be part of Stamford’s multifaith community choir; an amazing group of people from diverse backgrounds and spiritual paths who have come together in the name of love and unity. The New World Chorus, whose vision is “One World, One Voice, United in Love” performs throughout the year at multiple community events and houses of worship. Among our many wonderful multifaith events are “Thanksgiving – A Time to be Grateful”, “World AIDS Day”, “Season of Miracles”, “The Shabbat Experience” and “Street Angels”. We also perform at significant events in our community and support meaningful projects such as the “Living Voice Chorus” which gives people living with a form of dementia and their care partners an opportunity to connect through the power of music.
Our music is a blend of original contemporary and traditional, with songs in Hebrew, Gospel, Arabic and more. If you are looking for a way to get more involved, to express your heart in a meaningful, creative way, get to know our neighbors on a deeper level and make new friends, it’s the perfect time to join the New World Chorus!
The Fall season begins on October 1st, 2015 and goes through to Dec. 20th. Rehearsals take place on most Thursday nights from 7:15pm – 9:15pm at the First Congregational Church in Stamford.

Please join our community for this beautiful and transformative spiritual experience as we welcome in the Shabbat with music, meditation and prayer. The Shabbat Experience takes us on a journey as we become present to the magnificence of creation and all we have contributed throughout the week.
The holiday season is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what we are grateful for and gives us an opportunity to express generosity – to each other, our community, the world and the Divine. We look forward to sharing this experience with you.
Created by composer Beth Styles, this unique service is hosted by Temple Sinai of Stamford and co-led by Rabbi Jay TelRav, Cantor Micah Morgovsky, and special guests. Sitting on pillows and ottomans, dressed in white and surrounded by candlelight, The New World Chorus and Kolot Sinai’s angelic voices sweetly lift up the prayerful music all around us. The music is a blend of original, Kirtan, Contemporary and traditional in both Hebrew and English.
People from all backgrounds and spiritual paths are invited to join us for this beautiful service in the round.

The New World Chorus and Carriage House Studios will join forces again to create a memorable holiday experience around Stamford. The chorus will join together again with local singers to spread the spirit of the holidays. “Street Angels” began in 1994 led by Diane Gunnip (of Stamford’s well known original band “Sister Sun”). We are honored to continue the tradition by bringing love and joy especially to those who need it most. As a Multifaith Choir, the New World Chorus will sing both Christmas and Chanukah songs as they roam around the town of Stamford. It is always a wonderful feeling to see the faces of children light up as we show up and sing by surprise!! Performances will include the Stamford Mall, the Ferguson Library, the Palace Theater and most importantly, the choir will visit several assisted living locations as well as shelters.
Happy Holidays 2015!!!
